Austrian's European record will not count: pool too short

Austrian Mirna Jukic's European 200m breaststroke record may not be ratified because the pool in which she raced is too short: by 4cm, according to reports out of Austria. Jukic, clocked 2:23.90 on Saturday at Austrian championships to beat the record set in the Olympic semis by Hungarian Agnes Kovacs on her way to the 2000 title.

Now, the length of the pool at Schwechat, near Vienna, is being challenged as having fallen shy of the required 50m. If 49.96m ifs confirmed as the size of the venue, then presumably every result at the nationals will also have to be cancelled and removed from the world rakings. Fun and games.
