The Scot medley ace clocks 2:33 200 breast and then 16:28 national record in 1,500m free at Scottish nationals in Glasgow

Hannah Miley won the 200m breaststroke in 2:33.95 at the Scottish nationals in Glasgow and soon after set a Scottish record of 16:28.06 in the 1,500m free, 20.82sec inside the 2007 effort of Megan Gilchrist. The British record of retired Rebecca Cooke, 14 seconds ahead of Miley's best, stood form but Miley, still in hefty training, will be one to keep an eye on in Beijing.

Behind Miley in the 1,500m: Aurelie Muller (FRA) and her teammate, Laure Manaudou, on 16:40.73 and 16:54.98.

Alain Bernard (FRA) suffered defeat in his last swim before heading to Beijing, albeit at the top end of his capacities as a sprinter: Robbie Renwick (GBR) claimed the 200m freestyle crown at his home Scottish nationals in Glasgow in 1:47.70 to 1:47.81.

Olympic medallist Malia Metella (FRA) took the 100m free in 55.28 ahead of teammate Coralie Balmy, on 56.04, and Christophe Lebon (FRA) was the easy winner of the 100m butterfly, on 52.92.
