World champion and Olympic relay champion continue race practice for the Battle of Beijing

Brent Hayden (CAN), world champion in the 100m freestyle alongside Filippo Magnini (ITA) in 2007, will continue his warm-up for the battle of Beijing at the Quebec Cup in Montreal's Olympic Park Sports Centre from Friday to Sunday this week.

Hayden, of Mission, British Colombia, will face South African Ryk Neethling, a member of the Olympic gold-medal-winning 4x100m freestyle quartet in Athens 2004 and a man who can boast of having featured in an Olympic final over two laps and 30 laps, having finished fifth in the 1,500m freestyle at the 1996 and 2000 Games.

Hayden and Neethling will clash in the 50m and 100m freestyle in Montreal. Among Hayden's Canadian Olympic teammates who will also be in action are butterfly ace Audrey Lacroix, Mathieu Bois, Joe Bartoch, Andrew Hurd, Joel Greenshields, Tobias Oriwol, Keith Beavers, Jake Tapp, Geneviève Saumur, Victoria Poon, Savannah King, Alexa Komarnycky and Stephanie Horner.
