The endowment needs $5 million to get off the ground so ASU supporters created a website yesterday to start raising money: Save ASU Swimming.
While the team tries to solicit funds and save their program, Whitten has asked other college coaches not to recruit ASU swimmers, "Give us the time to do what is needed to reverse the decision without having the team cannibalized while we are doing so. For the greater good of our sport, please do not recruit these athletes while there remains a reasonable chance to reverse the decision and save ASU men's swimming"
While "Save ASU Swimming" has over 6598 friends on its Facebook page (and counting), it will need some big time donors to step up to the block so it can reach $5 million. Check out Save ASU Swimming for more information and to see how you can help.
